Hera Ford is a multimedia artist, textile designer and dancer from Gary, Indiana. She’s a 2020 graduate of Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) where she majored in Textiles. Her work is influenced by her relationship to the Black American South, her ancestral land and heirloom dances of Black Americans and the African Diaspora. In 2021, she received the Windgate Lamar Fellowship Award from the Center of Craft in Asheville, North Carolina. In 2022, she debuted her interior design capsule collection with F. Schumacher & Co., which can be found in showrooms worldwide including New York, Paris, and London. She’s been featured in the New York Times, Architectural Digest, Modern Luxury Interiors and on the cover of the design quarterly, Frederic Magazine. Hera is currently an Artist in Residence at the Textile Arts Center in Brooklyn, NY.
